Dwayne Johnson Will Not Be In ‘Fast & Furious 9
Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel hold two of the most important characters in the famous Fast & Furious franchise aside from Paul Walker. But after the tragic death of Walker, these two actors started to build a wall between them, making it difficult for the viewers of the movie to comprehend who will stay and who will leave the famous street racing film.
The feud which started while filming The Fate of the Furious, the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious, has been dealt with through a talk between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. However, they must have somehow realized that they cannot work together and cannot tolerate each other’s differences.
Although the hostilities between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel are true, the director of the Fast & Furious 9 will be no other than Justin Lin. Lin was already booked for the last two franchises of the Fast & Furious and Vin Diesel has no other plans or intention of directing the said film. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson will not be able to join Fast & Furious 9 because of his plans to continue with the Fast & Furious spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. While Vin Diesel has also contradicted this decision of Dwayne Johnson and has allegedly cut a post-credit scene from Fast & Furious 8 that teased this solo movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy star and The Rock cannot anymore do scenes together. What took place on Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s discussion on the latter’s trailer during the shoot of F8 was a realization that they have a fundamental difference in philosophies and how they approach moviemaking and collaborating. This has led to a situation wherein they had a scene together in the most recent Fast & Furious film, but they were never actually on the set at the same time. Good thing though the Fate of the Furious had a plotline in which Vin Diesel was separated from the rest of the team for most of the movie, making it easy for Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel to avoid each other.
Now that these two actors are already on a different perspective but still on the same fast cars, fans can still see their favorite actors if they watch both films. The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw will be directed by David Leitch and written by Chris Morgan and features the characters of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw who must join forces to stop a new threat emerging from Brixton Lore, a cyber-genetically enhanced international terrorist. Dwayne Johnson teams up with Jason Statham, to whom he has noticeably good chemistry with. Other stars include Idris Elba, Roman Reigns, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren and the film is scheduled to be released on August 2, 2019, by Universal Pictures.
